The Top 5 Reasons We Love the 2020 Buick Enclave

Stroll into any Buick dealer, and you’ll find an impressive array of vehicles just waiting to dress up your driveway. Buick continues its long tradition of building cars that lean toward the luxury end of the spectrum and carry a nameplate that comes with a storied history. Today, Buick offers several luxury SUVs of all sizes and styles, giving buyers a plethora of choices without having to shop at another dealership. But no vehicle gets us at Dan Cummins Buick Georgetown more excited than the 2020 Buick Enclave. With its unique styling and an impressive list of features, the Enclave is taking the midsize SUV market by storm, and it’s no wonder. With so many great features, we thought it would be fun to share our top 5 favorite things about the 2020 Buick Enclave. So without further ado, let’s get into it! #5: It’s Incredibly Safe Safety is critical for today’s car buyers, and technology is giving vehicles a huge boost that benefits drivers on the highways and back roads, and when parking or backing up. The 2020 Enclave is no exception. First off, the Enclave offers available HD Surround Vision. It’s a bird’s eye view of what’s happening all around the vehicle at slower speeds. Your view is displayed on the touchscreen display, and its crisp, clear area view will help with parking and avoiding hazards. Several driver-assist systems are available on the Enclave, including a lane change alert with side blind zone alert. Finally, we can get some help from our vehicle instead of the front seat passenger when changing lanes. Conveniently located on the side mirrors, these alerts light up when a vehicle is detected in a blind zone, keeping you safe while making a lane change. A Rear Cross Traffic Alert will tell you when something is coming behind your vehicle from the left or right when in reverse. This feature makes backing out of a parking spot or your driveway worry-free. While nothing replaces the driver’s full attention, this alert system gives you an added measure of protection. Other driver-assist features include forward collision alert, lane-keep assist with a lane departure warning, which helps you notice when you’re drifting out of your lane, giving you cues via a gentle pull on the steering wheel. It senses lane markers and alerts you when you are crossing them without engaging your turn signal. Additionally, all Buick vehicles are equipped with OnStar capability. OnStar gives drivers access to emergency services, roadside assistance, and even an Automatic Crash Response feature that contacts emergency services when it detects that your Enclave was involved in a collision. So it is safe to say that the 2020 Enclave is a safe vehicle. #4: Distinctive Styling Makes It Stand Out in a Crowd There’s only one way to say this: the 2020 Enclave is pretty. It’s elegant. It truly offers distinctive styling cues and a unique curb appeal, helping it stand out in the crowded SUV category. Starting with the grille, the Enclave has the signature Buick emblem. And its clean, sleek lines give off a luxury feel with a hint of the performance that lies under the hood. Several trims tweak the exterior, such as the new Sport Touring Enclave. A black-out mesh grille with body-color surround, dark lower trim, 20” aluminum wheels with a satin finish, and an understated ST badge on the liftgate combine to give this model an aggressive appeal. And beyond looks, the Enclave has a convenient exterior. All Enclave models come standard with a hands-free power liftgate. Simply have the key fob in your pocket and kick your foot over the sensor, and your liftgate opens like magic. Other available features, such as the power moonroof with a fixed rear skylight, give the vehicle an almost convertible-level of open-air viewing. In all, this vehicle is a good looking and conveniently designed vehicle. #3: It’s Roomy for Passengers and Cargo Let’s face it – SUVs are preferred for their cargo-hauling capability and extra passenger space. Buyers want a roomy vehicle with several seating configurations and the option of using most of the interior to move their stuff or accommodate an extra fruitful day of antique shopping. The Enclave delivers with ample room on the inside. Front legroom in this spacious SUV comes in at 41.2-inches, with shoulder room at 62.4-inches and hip room at 59.1-inches. That’s a roomy front cabin for the lucky driver and passenger. Legroom in the second row is a comfortable 38.9-inches, and in the third row, you won’t hear too many complaints, as the legroom offered is an impressive 37.6-inches. Plus, if you’re hauling your treasures, you’ll be glad for the 97.6 cu.ft. max cargo capacity. Whether you have passengers or treasures, you can surely fit them in the Enclave. #2: It’s Offered in Multiple Trims The Enclave comes in four exciting trims, offering a price point and array of features that will appeal to a broad range of buyers. The base Preferred starts at just $40,000 and offers Buick’s 310 hp V6 engine, an impressive horsepower rating that delivers great performance and acceleration. Next up is the Essence, starting at an MSRP of $42,000. You’ll find leather first- and second-row seats, standard driver-assist safety systems, including lane change alert with side blind zone alert and rear cross-traffic alert, and a very cool and unique in-vehicle air ionizer, giving the cabin a constant supply of fresh air. We find the Premium next in the Enclave lineup, and it jumps to $48,800. Why? Because Buick adds a lot of additional standard features at this level. These features include a Bose premium 10-speaker audio system, ventilated seats with a massage feature (winning our prize for most appreciated interior comfort feature!), power-folding third-row seats, which are true back savers, and the addition of forward collision alert to the suite of safety systems. At the top of the pack is the beautiful and luxurious Enclave Avenir. The Avenir starts at an MSRP of $53,800 and doesn’t disappoint. You’ll get exterior styling unique to this model, and the HD Surround Vision and Rear Camera Mirror comes standard. Also standard is Buick’s nifty power moonroof with rear fixed skylight and a wireless smartphone charger. Overall, the Enclave is great because there is an option for everyone. #1: It’s a Buick! Let’s not forget the best part of all: the Enclave is part of a long and proud Buick tradition. Did you know that the Buick brand is what gave General Motors its start? It’s true, and it all happened back in 1899. Buick has almost always positioned itself as a premium – or luxury – automotive brand, and it still sells over one million vehicles worldwide every year. Buick is the nameplate of some of the most revered cars in history. From the Riviera to the Skylark, the LeSabre, and the Regal, Buick has a proud tradition of building American cars. Now focused on the SUV category, Buick has a full line of SUVs, from the wildly popular entry-level Encore to the brand new Envision, Buick’s lineup of SUVs is complete and offers an option for all ranges of budgets and preferences. Today’s Buick combines the best of its history and heritage with modern technological advances and class-leading styling to bring consumers an American SUV option with style. It’s no wonder consumers continue to trust the Buick brand. That said, what makes the Enclave so special? Well, it’s a Buick.

2022 Buick Envision vs 2022 Chevrolet Equinox

Compact SUVs are known for their remarkable storage room, efficiency, and competition. Just the right size for the average family or new driver, they might be more off-road-ready, city-focused, or filled with the latest technology. The Buick Envision and Chevrolet Equinox are two examples of very good and very similar compact SUVs. Buick is a luxury automaker, while Chevrolet is generally more accessible, but is it really that simple, and which is the right SUV for you? Let’s compare the 2022 Chevy Equinox and the 2022 Buick Envision. Exterior The 2022 Buick Envision has three trim levels: Preferred, Essence, and Avenir, while the 2022 Chevy Equinox has four: LS, LT, RS, and Premier. Comparing exteriors, the Envision is level, with a broader grille. The 2022 Equinox is a bit more downward-sloped in a way that matches the narrow, assertive headlights. For 2022, the Equinox comes in eight colors instead of the Envision’s six, though only the latter has a bronze color option. Both have wheel sizes ranging from 18 to 20 inches, but the Envision offers some 20-inch wheels with a wider inner diameter. Both vehicles have standard LED headlights and roof rails, and you can find versions with heated power outside mirrors and a hands-free automatic programmable liftgate. The Essence or Avenir versions of the 2022 Envision can come with adaptive headlights, also known as cornering lights. Adaptive lights rotate on a turn, based on your speed and steering wheel angle, fully lighting the road ahead. Interior Both models come with infotainment touch screens and advanced phone-connectivity systems, with an 8-inch screen on the Buick and a 7-inch screen with the Chevy. On all trims above the Preferred, the 2022 Buick Envision can be upgraded with a heads-up display, showing you the navigation instructions and details, your current speed, and more without having to take your eyes off the road. The interior passenger space and hip, head, and leg room dimensions are virtually identical, with the Envision just a half-inch or so bigger. The Equinox wins out when it comes to cargo volume: 29.9 cubic feet over the Envision’s 25.2 cubic feet. However, the Envision also gets one-touch front power windows and available automatic speed-adjusting windshield wipers. Finally, the Envision Avenir has massaging front seats as standard equipment, a real treat on longer trips. Safety Both of these family wagons have five-star NHTSA safety ratings, but beyond the available cornering lights, the Buick Envision has a few other safety advantages. The front seat belts are height-adjustable, and the Envision has a driver’s knee air bag for better positioning in a front collision. The Envision also has hill descent control on the all-wheel-drive versions, which helps you shift into gear and start moving from a hill. The 2022 Envision and 2022 Equinox both have rearview cameras and surround-view monitor systems. A blind-spot warning system is included on the Envision from the base model. The Equinox RS also has blind-spot monitoring from the Confidence and Convenience package or the Driver Confidence package, available on lower trims. The same applies to rear cross-path detection systems: standard on the Envision but still available on the Equinox with the right optional package. Finally, the Envision Essence or Envision Avenir can be upgraded with Enhanced Automatic Park Assist, which does every step of parking for you except switching into and out of reverse. If you look at the Equinox’s highest trim level, the Premier, you’ll see a similar automatic parking assist function. Although, with Chevy’s version, you have to control the brakes, too. Engine Both of these SUVs use a single powertrain across their trim levels. Though it’s to be expected, the luxury Envision is generally more powerful and responsive compared to the Equinox, although the Chevy model is not far behind. The 2022 Buick Envision uses a 2-liter four-cylinder engine with 228 horsepower, 58 more than the Equinox’s 1.5-liter turbo four-cylinder powertrain. The Buick model also gets 258 lb-ft of torque, while the Equinox gets a still-great 203 lb-ft. Common models of the 2022 Buick Envision reached a 0-60-mph time of 7.3 seconds. The Equinox is not far behind at 8.2 seconds. Both vehicles are more about comfort than track performance, but their times are fairly good for their segment. Finally, the Envision’s engine has valve timing technology to disengage some of the cylinders when they aren’t needed, helping you save more fuel at lower speeds. The Envision also benefits from stronger brakes, with a 0-60-mph stopping distance of 127 feet instead of the Equinox’s 135 feet. Transmissions are another big part of an SUV’s driving feel. The Envision gets a nine-speed automatic shifter, while the Equinox has a six-speed automatic. Also, the Envision’s standard front-wheel-drive has a 15.9-gallon fuel tank, exactly one gallon bigger than the 2022 Equinox’s front-wheel-drive tank. Although it has the simpler transmission, the Equinox has better city fuel economy at 26 mpg instead of 24 (both get 31 highway mpg), while the Envision spoils choosy drivers with maxed-out power and agility. Final Verdict The key question is whether you want that luxury touch and a little more of everything or if  you prefer a balance of practicality and luxury. One isn’t necessarily better, and the decision comes down largely to taste and price range. You could find an Equinox that has all your must-have features at a lower price than the equivalent Envision trim level. Or, maybe the Envision’s driving style is just what you need. A test drive of similar trim levels from both would help you find out for sure. Overall, the differences between the Envision and Equinox are both great choices, just in different degrees of luxury.
