Back in 2019, the automotive world took note when Chevrolet reintroduced its Blazer SUV. The boxy design of the old model was replaced with a sleek and sporty SUV truly worthy of the name Blazer. For 2024, the Chevy Blazer returns with four trim levels and three special editions, each with an exceptional array of standard features. This gives you the option of deciding on which of these midsize SUV trims work best for you. No matter which one you choose, you will get plenty of space for up to five passengers in a model that is built for performance. This is why the Blazer works so well as a daily driver, commuter vehicle, or family SUV.

Chevy Blazer 2LT

The entry-level trim of the 2024 Chevy Blazer is the 2LT. The Blazer 2LT rides on a set of 18-inch aluminum wheels wrapped with all-season tires. Front-wheel drive is standard, with all-wheel drive available as an option. The seats are trimmed with a premium cloth fabric. The front seats are also heated, which will come in handy on cold mornings. Chevy has also placed cup holders in the front and back rows.

The Blazer 2LT comes equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged I-4 gas engine. This comes paired with a Hydra-Matic nine-speed automatic transmission. The engine has a dual overhead camshafts (DOHC) configuration with four valves per cylinder. Automatic stop/start will help reduce fuel consumption and emissions. This turns off the engine when you come to a full stop and then restarts the engine when you release pressure from the brake pedal. The powertrain uses direct, high-pressure fuel injection to deliver 228 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque, enough strength to tow up to 3,250 lbs. This gives you solid fuel economy, estimated at 25 MPG combined with front-wheel drive and 24 MPG combined if you opt for the added traction of available all-wheel drive.

The Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Plus system comes standard on the Blazer 2LT. This features a 10.2-inch HD color touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. This allows you to connect your phone for hands-free calls and texts even if you have left your charging cables at home. There is also a six-speaker audio system, so you can listen to your favorite music either through the infotainment system’s radio or by streaming from your phone.

One of the best standard features on the Blazer 2LT is the Chevy Safety Assist suite of active driver assistance features. In addition to a standard HD Rear Vision Camera to let you see objects behind you when backing up, you also get six different active safety features. The Following Distance Indicator will let you know if you are getting too close to the vehicle ahead of you, while Forward Collision Alert will let you know if there is an imminent front-end collision so you can take evasive action. This will also activate Automatic Emergency Braking to bring your Blazer to a safe stop. The system also features Front Pedestrian Braking, which works the same way if it detects a pedestrian in front of your vehicle. Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning will keep you from drifting into an adjacent lane. Finally, IntelliBeam auto high beam headlights will automatically turn on if the lighting becomes poor, then turn off when you get to a better-lighted area.

In addition to all the features on the 2LT, the Blazer 3LT has a number of extra features. If you do a great deal of shopping, you are going to appreciate the standard power programmable liftgate. This will make accessing the 30.5 cu.ft. of cargo space in the back of the Blazer easier than ever. The interior of the Blazer 3LT features perforated leather seats. The steering wheel is also leather-wrapped. There are also additional USB data ports available that can be used to charge your phone.

Chevy has given the Blazer 3LT some additional standard safety features. Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert will make changing lanes on the highway safer and easier. When you signal to change lanes, the system will indicate if the lane is clear or if there is another vehicle traveling in your blind spot. Rear Cross Traffic Alert will let you know if a pedestrian or vehicle is about to cross behind your Blazer when you go to back up.

Buyers of the Blazer 3LT also have the option of choosing a larger engine. The 3.6-liter V6 engine comes with a Hydra-Matic nine-speed automatic transmission and also has a DOHC configuration with 24 valves for its six cylinders. The engine comes with variable valve timing that, together with automatic stop/start, will improve fuel economy. This engine delivers 308 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque, making the Blazer capable of towing up to 4,500 lbs. The Blazer 3LT with this optional engine will give you 22 MPG combined fuel economy or 21 MPG combined if you opt for available all-wheel drive.

Special Editions

Chevy offers a few special editions for the 2024 Blazer 2LT and 3LT. The Redline Edition comes with 20-inch gloss black-painted wheels with red accents, as well as special badges. It is available in Summit White or Black, each with a Jet Black interior. The Midnight Edition is the one for folks who love their vehicles in black. This special edition rides on a set of 18-inch high-gloss black-painted aluminum wheels and has an interior and exterior in black. Finally, the Sport Edition includes the black elements of the Midnight Edition but is available in a variety of exterior colors.

Blazer RS

The Blazer RS rides on a set of 20-inch wheels, with available 21-inch wheels if you want a slightly sportier ride. This model comes standard with the 3.6-liter V6 gas engine, as well as an Advanced Twin-Clutch all-wheel drive system. This will give you exceptional traction. The interior of the Blazer RS features Jet Black perforated leather seats with red accents. The steering wheel and front seats are heated, with heated rear outboard seats available as an option. This will keep you and all of your passengers warm on cold winter mornings.

The Blazer RS also has Rear Park Assist, which will make parallel parking easier by signaling if you are too close to the car behind you. There is also a Hands-Free Gesture liftgate. Simply make a kicking motion under the rear bumper to get the liftgate to open. This will definitely come in handy when your hands are filled with packages.

Chevy has equipped the Blazer RS with the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Premium system. This also has a 10.2-inch HD color touchscreen with built-in navigation to help you get wherever you are going. This trim also features a standard wireless charger. This is located under the dashboard and will help you keep your devices charged along the way, even if you forgot to bring along your charging cables. If you love music, then you are sure to enjoy the Bose premium audio system on the Blazer RS. This features eight speakers strategically placed throughout the passenger cabin.

Blazer Premier

The Blazer Premier has the same MSRP as the Blazer RS. However, where the RS is about performance, the Premier is about comfort and convenience. The Blazer Premier comes with the 2.0-liter turbocharged I-4 engine, with the 3.6-liter V6 engine available as an option. In addition, you can choose between front-wheel and all-wheel drive. This allows you to design the performance of your Blazer Premier to meet your driving needs.

The gorgeous exterior of the Premier features a chrome-trimmed horizontal grille. This is paired with a set of silver roof rails, chrome-accented door handles, and plenty of chrome accents throughout the outside of the Blazer Premier. The 20-inch wheels of the Premier have multiple spokes that give it a truly striking look.

Chevy has done an amazing job of bringing the exterior of the Blazer Premier inside the cabin. The seats feature perforated leather with sueded microfiber accents in your choice of Jet Black or Jet Black with Maple Sugar. Chevy has also equipped the Blazer Premier with many of the same comfort and convenience features as the Blazer RS, including Rear Park Assist, the Hands-Free Gesture liftgate, heated steering wheel, available heated rear outboard seats, the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Premium system, Bose premium audio system, and a wireless charger.
