Legacy of the Silverado

The history of Chevy trucks is almost as old as the history of Chevrolet itself. The Chevy One-Ton first hit the road in 1918 as the first purpose-built truck from Chevrolet. While it was pretty rudimentary, it did the job it was made for, providing a platform for folks who needed the versatility of a truck that could be modified as needed. It also provided a platform for the future, leading to the introduction of the first Chevy Silverado truck in 1999.

The name Silverado had first been used as a trim level on Chevy trucks in 1975. However, a decision was made by Chevrolet to introduce a new half-ton truck with the name Silverado that would represent the culmination of over 80 years of truck building experience. Those first Chevy trucks hit the road over 20 years ago with a powerful 5.3-liter V8 gas engine and a rugged design that made this pickup stand out from a crowded field of half-ton trucks.

While the first generation of Silverado pickup trucks was a big hit with drivers, Chevrolet was not content to sit back and let the market catch up to this great truck. That is why Chevy made a full redesign of the Silverado 1500, making the truck more aerodynamic for better performance, improved fuel economy, and upgraded creature comforts. The public took note, with the 2007 Chevy Silverado being named the 2007 North American Truck of the Year.

The third generation of the Silverado was introduced to the public in time for the 2014 model year. This built on the technological advances of the first two generations of this truck, with an improved infotainment system that provided more connectivity for driver’s devices through USB ports and Bluetooth. Just like the second generation Silverado, the third generation Chevy Silverado won the Truck of the Year award at the 2014 North American International Auto Show. Chevy even put out a special Centennial Edition of the Silverado in 2018 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the introduction of the Chevy One-Ton.

Today, the Silverado is enjoying its fourth generation of great performance with an edition that was introduced in 2019. The 2021 Silverado 1500 comes equipped with many active safety features that help make the Silverado one of the safest pickup trucks on sale today. Chevy offers Silverado drivers a choice of 6 different engines, including a 3.0-liter Duramax Turbo-Diesel, rear-wheel or four-wheel drive, eight different trim levels, and six super cool special editions. You can also choose from a single-row Regular Cab, a two-row Extended Cab, and a four-door Crew Cab on your Silverado.

We Carry New, Used, and CPO Silverados

One of the great things about being a Chevy dealership is that we have an extensive inventory of new, used, and Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) Silverado trucks. The new Silverado trucks have all the latest features and systems to make your truck safer and more fun to drive. At the same time, few things give you as great a value as buying a used or CPO truck.

What is the difference between a used and a Certified Pre-Owned truck? Any truck that has had a prior owner before you is considered to be a used truck. A Certified Pre-Owned model, however, must meet strict manufacturer guidelines, but they also come with extra warranties.

In order to qualify for the Chevy CPO program, a vehicle must be less than 6 years old, have fewer than 75,000 miles on its odometer, and have a clean title. Once a used Chevy vehicle meets these criteria, it undergoes a rigorous 172-point vehicle inspection and reconditioning process to ensure it is in top condition.

If you buy a CPO truck from us, you will receive an Extended Bumper-to-Bumper Limited Warranty that covers 12-months/12,000-miles, as well as an Extended Powertrain Limited Warranty of 6-years/100,000-miles. This is key since the powertrain is often the most expensive feature to repair on a truck. In addition, you will receive a one-month free trial of the OnStar Safety & Security Plan, and, if your Chevy CPO truck has a satellite radio, a free trial of SiriusXM satellite radio.

Whether you buy a new, used, or CPO truck from us, you will receive an exceptional vehicle. That is because every used vehicle we sell has been thoroughly inspected and comes with a free CarFax vehicle history report so you can see key information about the used Chevy truck you are about to buy. This dedication to transparency is part of our emphasis on customer service.
