Lexington Used Buick Dealership

Buick’s reputation for building affordable and reliable luxury vehicles is well-earned. This premium brand got its start in the automotive industry during the late 1800s as the Buick Auto-Vim and Power Company and was the foundation that the GM automotive empire was built upon. Its early vehicles were so well built that they were chosen to transport notable individuals from the British royal family to the Emperor of China. Now, as one of the oldest automobile brands in America, Buick’s legacy lives on in the affordable premium sedans and SUVs that you’ll find at your Lexington used Buick dealership.

How exactly did Buick Auto-Vim and Power Company get into the automotive industry? Chief engineer Walter Marr designed the first Buick in 1899, but his boss, company owner David Dunbar Buick, wasn’t thrilled with the idea of making automobiles. Marr knew he was onto something and left the company to pursue the venture on his own. Buick eventually changed his mind and, by 1903, incorporated the Buick Motor Company. He hired William Durant, the future founder of General Motors, to manage the company and rehired Marr to oversee automobile production.

With Durant at the helm, Buick was bound to succeed, and in 1904 the new company produced 37 Model B Touring Cars. Four years later, Buick surpassed Ford and Cadillac as the top vehicle producer, producing its one-millionth vehicle by the 1920s. With Buick becoming the largest automaker in America, Durant started investing in other brands to build an even bigger empire, keeping Buick at the top to attract drivers looking for premium luxury at affordable prices.

By 1939, Buick made history with the introduction of turn signals and then lent its hand to help win World War II by producing M18 Hellcat tank destroyers. After the war, the sky was the limit as Buick set new sales records with models like the Roadmaster Convertible, Super Riviera Coupe, Electra 225, Wildcat, Gran Sport GSX, and the Century. Fast forward to the present day, and Buick retains its reputation as a brand that delivers the ultimate in luxury, comfort, and convenience at a price many can afford.

An Award-Winning Brand

Buick is not only one of the oldest automotive brands in America, but it’s also one of the most awarded, giving drivers even more reason to shop Buick. Praised for producing dependable vehicles that can meet any need, whether navigating rush-hour traffic and running errands to trekking cross-country on a family vacation, the Buick lineup can handle it all with ease. It even has the awards to prove it.

Buick has earned numerous titles from J.D. Power, an organization famed for using detailed studies to find the highest performing companies in the industry. A J.D. Power award serves as a symbol of trust and reliability to consumers. J.D. Power also fuels healthy competition in the industry by setting high benchmarks for quality across the board. That quality extends not only from the vehicle itself but to customer service and doing the job right the first time to ensure complete customer satisfaction.

Quality motivates loyalty among consumers, and that’s where Buick excels. Buick has earned numerous awards from J.D. Power over the years, regularly picking up honors like #1 in Sales Satisfaction and #1 in Customer Satisfaction with Dealer Service. These honors from J.D. Power further solidify Buick’s reputation in the automotive industry as a high-performing automaker committed to its customers every step of the way.

Buying a Used Buick

From Buick’s history of building exceptional vehicles to its many awards and its reputation as a premium brand, there are plenty of reasons to get behind the wheel of a Buick. But what if we told you that you don’t have to shop for a new Buick to reap the rewards? Instead, you can enjoy all the benefits of the Buick brand by buying a used Buick.

There’s no question that Buicks are reliable whether they’re straight from the factory or they’ve logged thousands of miles. Shopping for a certified pre-owned (CPO) Buick is a great way to get behind the wheel of a premium luxury vehicle without paying the new car price. All of our CPO models go through rigorous inspections and are returned to like-new condition. They also come with two factory-backed warranties as well as roadside assistance to give you even more peace of mind when buying a used Buick.

Another great benefit to buying a used Buick is that you can avoid the rapid depreciation that comes with a new car. The moment you drive any vehicle off the lot, it immediately starts to depreciate and continues to depreciate or lose value over the first few years. As the vehicle ages, the rate of depreciation slows. By buying a used Buick, you are letting the first owners absorb this rapid depreciation, leaving you with a more affordable vehicle that still offers the same luxury and convenience features it came with from the factory. It’s a win-win!

Buick Encore

The Buick Encore has established itself as one of the most desirable subcompact SUVs on the road today. First debuting in time for the 2013 model year, the Encore provides plenty of room for up to 5 passengers with solid trunk space for a vehicle of its size. Drivers get to choose between all-wheel drive for better traction and front-wheel drive for improved fuel economy. The Encore has all the benefits of an SUV in a much more manageable package.

This model comes equipped with a standard 1.4-liter I-4 gas engine paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. While the first years of the Buick Encore used a multi-port fuel injection system, Buick switched to a more efficient direct fuel injection on the Encore's engine in time for the 2017 model year. As a result, you will probably find these give you better overall fuel economy, as well as improved acceleration. With the Buick Encore, you are getting a really fine SUV in a great little package, making it ideal for commuters who want to save a few bucks on gas every time they have to fill up the gas tank.

Buick Encore GX

Flush with the success of its Encore subcompact SUV, Buick decided to develop the Encore GX, a larger and more sport-oriented version of the original model. The Encore GX took its place in the Buick lineup during the 2020 model year and has gone on to become one of the most popular models in its segment. This is because it retains the cute design of the Encore but beefs it up with a choice of two capable turbocharged engines, giving you plenty of options to choose from.

The first engine on the Encore GX is a 1.2-liter ECOTEC Turbo I-3 paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). Rather than have set gear speeds, the CVT will constantly adjust its gear ratio to better fit road conditions. This not only leads to a smoother ride but also gives you greater engine efficiency. The Encore GX with this engine is front-wheel drive only.

The second engine on the Encore GX is a 1.3-liter ECOTEC Turbo I-3, which also comes standard with a CVT. However, if you prefer a more conventional transmission, you can opt for the available 9-speed transmission on your Encore GX. This model also gives you a choice of front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.

As you can see from the two engine options on the Encore GX, this model was made to provide you with top-notch performance on a subcompact SUV. Even so, the Encore GX will still give you great fuel economy, just like its smaller sibling. In this way, you will get to spend more time having fun driving your Encore GX and less time waiting in line at the gas station.

Buick Envision

When the folks at Buick set out to design a luxury crossover that stood out from the crowded field of compact SUVs, they used their vision to create the Envision with its unique looks and exceptional performance. The Buick Envision hit the road during the 2016 model year and hasn't looked back yet. Those first-generation models give drivers a choice of two different engines. The standard engine is a 2.5-liter I-4 gas engine with a 6-speed automatic transmission. There is also a 2.0-liter turbocharged I-4 available as an option with either a 6-speed or 9-speed automatic transmission, depending on the model year.

After a minor facelift to the Envision in 2019, Buick introduced the second generation Envision for 2021. This model features more aerodynamic lines giving it a sleeker look than the first generation Envision. Buick introduced a new 2.0-liter turbocharged I-4 tuned for greater efficiency, making it the standard engine on all Envision trim levels. Buick has also made the first-generation Envision's optional 9-speed automatic transmission standard, giving you greater control over engine performance. One thing to keep in mind is that the first generation Envision has slightly more trunk space than the current model, so if one of your goals is to be able to move your stuff, then you might be better served with an older Envision.

Buick Enclave

Sometimes you need a little more room, and you will get exactly that with a Buick Enclave. This three-row midsize SUV provides you with the option of having room for either 7 or 8 passengers, depending on the configuration. If you choose an Enclave with a second-row bench seat, then you will have room for an extra passenger. The other option is to go for a second row with two captain's chairs, which will make it easier for your passengers to get into and out of the Enclave's second row. By providing these options, Buick lets you choose the configuration that works best for you.

The Buick Enclave was introduced in 2008 and features a 3.6-liter V-6 gas engine with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Those first-generation Enclave models proved so popular that Buick decided to only make some small design changes for the second generation model, which was introduced in 2018. The newer generation has a slightly roomier interior and also features a 9-speed automatic transmission. The extra gear speeds provide for smoother shifting and more efficient engine performance. The Enclave comes with front-wheel drive standard but has all-wheel drive available if you want improved traction, especially in inclement weather conditions.

No matter which generation of the Enclave you choose, you are getting a roomy and luxurious midsize SUV that is sure to provide you with an enjoyable ride. Whether you are using your Enclave to go out to dinner with a group of friends or taking your family on a nice long road trip, you are sure to enjoy everything Buick's flagship model has to offer.

Buick Regal

The Buick Regal has seen one of the greatest runs for a luxury midsize sedan in automotive history. The Regal first appeared in 1973, and Buick continued to build a Regal sedan all the way up to 2020. This 47-year run of Buick Regals makes it a truly classic model. Even though Buick discontinued the Regal after 2020, you can still get an amazing deal on a used Buick Regal.

The fifth-generation Regal made its debut in 2011 and signaled a new direction in Buick with a trimmer and sportier design than in prior model years. The key for Buick was to equip the Regal with a choice of two exceptional engines. The first is a 2.4-liter I-4, and the second is a more powerful 2.0-liter turbocharged I-4. Each comes with a 6-speed automatic transmission to maximize overall performance while giving you solid fuel economy.

Buick went a step farther with the eighth-generation Regal, coming out with three different versions of this sedan. The Regal Sportback is a midsize sedan that comes with two powertrain and two drivetrain choices. If you choose the smaller 2.0-liter turbocharged I-4 engine, you can opt for either a front-wheel or all-wheel drivetrain. The larger 3.6-liter V6 engine comes with an all-wheel drivetrain only.

The Regal GS is a performance-oriented midsize sedan that features the combination of the 3.6-liter V6 engine and all-wheel drive standard. Finally, the Regal TourX is a midsize wagon with increased trunk space, a 2.0-liter turbocharged I-4 gas engine, and all-wheel drive. All eighth-generation Buick Regal models feature a 9-speed automatic transmission to give you greater control over your engine's performance.

No matter which used Regal model you choose, you are getting a roomy and luxurious sedan full of great features that will keep you and your passengers safe and entertained. The Buick Regal has been designed to carry up to five passengers comfortably, with an attention to detail that is second to none. It's safe to say you and your passengers will get the royal treatment in a Buick Regal.
