Finally, the 1.6L turbo-diesel makes an incredible 39 MPG on the highway, although it was discontinued after the 2019 model year.

Coupled with a five-star side-impact rating, the 2018 Equinox earned an overall safety rating of five stars.

By 2018, Chevy had also provided the Equinox with a wider array of both standard and optional safety features - the 2018 Equinox came standard with a rearview camera, for instance - but perhaps the most exciting addition is the Teen Driver safety software suite.
