You want to be sure you get an engine powerful enough to make driving it a lot of fun. Fortunately, the 2021 Chevy Suburban comes through with three fantastic engines for you to choose from.

Engines

The standard engine on the Suburban is a 5.3L EcoTec3 V8 with dynamic fuel management, which provides up to 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque. There is also an available 6.2L EcoTec3 V8 engine that also has dynamic fuel management, which delivers up to 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. These are both excellent options that make the Suburban a lot of fun to drive and they are great choices for a standard gas engine.

Diesel Power

There is also a third engine option for the 2021 Suburban, which was not available before. This is a Duramax 3.0L Turbo Diesel engine that delivers up to 277 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. • LT - The LT trim is the next step up and is the second of the previously available trim levels. It features the same 5.3L V8 engine, along with the 10-inch infotainment system that is standard on every model. • RST - As one of the three brand new trims for the 2021 model year Suburban, the RST features standard seating for eight, with available seven-passenger seating that offers a pair of captain’s chairs in the second row. • Z71 - The Z71 trim is another new-for-2021 option that provides impressive off-road functionality for the 2021 Suburban. With this trim, you get 20-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, red tow hooks, and a front skid plate to help protect the underbody. The Z71 also features a high-approach angle front fascia and comes with an Autotrac 2-speed transfer case.
• Premier - In the past, the Premier was the pinnacle trim for the Suburban, and it remains a fantastic penultimate option. With the Premier, you get magnetic ride control, a 10-speaker premium Bose sound system, and dual exhaust with dual twin polished stainless steel tips. The Premier has an 8-inch driver information center and additional safety features such as a lane change alert and front and rear park assist.
• High Country - The High Country is the ultimate expression of the 2021 Chevy Suburban and comes with the more powerful 6.2L V8 engine standard. You also get 22-inch wheels with all-season tires, a unique High Country signature grille, and magnetic ride control with available four-corner air ride adaptive suspension. A 15-inch head-up display and HD surround vision are both standard on the High Country.

The inside of the 2021 Chevy Suburban is larger than ever before, in part due to the fact that the Suburban is overall longer than previous models and due to changes in design. The addition of an independent rear suspension has allowed the floor of the Suburban to be lowered to offer more room inside, particularly for your passengers behind the front seat. This has resulted in much more interior space for cargo throughout the interior of the Suburban.

Compared to the 2020

To get a sense of how much more room you now get inside, let us take a moment to look at last year’s model. The 2021 Model

The 2021 model gives you more than 41 cu.ft. of interior cargo space behind the third row of seats, with more than 93 cu.ft. of space behind the second row, and more than 144 cu.ft. of total cargo area behind the front row of seats.
