  • Overview

The Chevy Trailblazer started out as one of the S-10 Blazer’s highest trims. But after years of high-quality performance, the Trailblazer was replaced by the Traverse. Now, after over a decade hiatus, this well-loved model is back and better than ever. The new 2021 Chevy Trailblazer is a fuel-efficient and sporty compact SUV option. This model has gone from getting under 20 MPG back in the day to up to 31 MPG now. Plus, the 2021 Trailblazer is much more appealing, harboring a two-tone aesthetic with sporty wheels and multiple color options.

The 2021 Chevy Trailblazer is also Chevy’s most affordable SUV option, starting at just $19,000.* It comes in five different trim levels, it offers tons of cargo space, and it even includes three different drive modes for when the terrain gets tough. The 2021 Chevy Trailblazer is capable, affordable, and aesthetically pleasing, and we’re excited to tell you all about it.

  • Exterior

A vehicle’s exterior may not indicate anything about its performance, but it’s still important to most drivers. The exterior is everyone’s first impression of you and your vehicle. The great news here is that the 2021 Trailblazer’s exterior is one of its top qualities. Here’s why.

    A Variety of Colors

The 2021 Trailblazer comes in no fewer than 23 different exterior color options. The majority of these are two-tone schemes with separate colors for different parts of the vehicle. For example, you can get color combinations like Midnight Blue Metallic/Summit White, which includes a white roof and side mirrors combined with a dark blue body. You can also go the opposite route with combinations like Iridescent Pearl/Zeus Bronze, which features a darker brown roof with a lightly colored white body and side mirrors.

Many of these color options are unique to either the ACTIV or the RS trims, making those capable trims even more exciting. The unique color options are further enhanced by trim-specific grilles and accents for a one-of-a-kind experience. Further, each trim comes with its own standard wheel options. From the LT trim up, these wheel options are black and silver with different designs. The two lowest trims come with steel or aluminum silver wheels.

    A Bold Design

SUVs and crossovers vary in design, with some offering a casual rounded look, while others are squarer. The 2021 Chevy Trailblazer comes with a square off-roading body style. It has a low, wide front grille, deep-tinted windows, and convenient roof rack rails. It’s easy to see that the 2021 Trailblazer offers a unique sporty appeal. But what about exterior convenience?

The good news here is that you can opt for luxuries like heated exterior mirrors and a hands-free power liftgate if you prefer. Plus, LED fog lamps, tail lamps, and headlamps make it much easier to see. These lights even come with an automatic setting, so you no longer have to worry about forgetting to turn on your lights in town. The 2021 Chevy Trailblazer is not only appealing, but it’s user-friendly to boot.

  • Performance

A red 2021 Chevy Trailblazer RS is shown driving from the rear against a blurred background.

The 2021 Chevy Trailblazer is designed with mileage in mind. You can get the Trailblazer in either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, sacrificing only a few miles per gallon when you choose all-wheel drive. The front-wheel drive model gets up to 31 MPG combined, while the all-wheel drive model can manage 28 MPG combined.

Thanks to the Trailblazer’s three drive modes, you can tackle snow and ice with more confidence while using less fuel than larger SUV models. Plus, you can shift into Sport mode for a peppier performance, while Normal mode will keep you on track with the greatest fuel economy.

    Engines and Power

The 2021 Chevy Trailblazer comes with two different 3-cylinder turbocharged engines, but don’t let the size fool you. The base 1.2L produces 137 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque, while the optional 1.3L pumps out 155 horsepower and 174 pound-feet of torque. While that may not be ideal for those who need a tow-capable vehicle, it’s the perfect SUV for commuters and light off-roading.

The new Trailblazer has just enough pep in its step to keep you going. Plus, this model’s stop and start engine and available 9-speed automatic transmission paired with its lightweight design make it easy to maneuver and cheap on fuel. For casual commuters and people who frequently travel, this is an ideal SUV.

  • Interior

The black interior and front seats are shown in a red 2021 Chevy Trailblazer RS.

The 2021 Chevy Trailblazer is a great model if you’re looking to vacation or hit the road a lot. While it’s small and compact, it still offers enough room to carry kayaks or ski gear. Overall, the Trailblazer offers 54.5 cubic feet of cargo space. This is due to its flat-folding front seat and split-folding rear seats. When you’re not hauling cargo, the Trailblazer can seat up to five people, with room for additional cargo on its roof rack rails. Although it’s classified as a compact SUV, it can still easily maintain efficient cargo and passenger space.

    Convenience Features

Push-button start is the new norm, so it’s no surprise that the Trailblazer offers this feature. However, it gets better. Despite its lower price range, the 2021 Chevy Trailblazer includes remote locks, one-touch power windows, and a driver information center that keeps you up to date on all your vehicle’s stats. Overall, the 2021 Trailblazer’s interior is both spacious and convenient, packing plenty of features in its compact interior. Now let’s look at the 2021 Chevy Trailblazer’s tech features. Like most modern models, this SUV comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility standard. These are accessed through the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system and either a 7-inch or 8-inch central touchscreen. The good news is that the Trailblazer’s affordable price doesn’t remove its tech-savvy nature. You can get wireless device charging on your new 2021 Chevy Trailblazer model, along with a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot. In summary, the new Chevy Trailblazer is an affordable, safe, tech-friendly option.

  • Safety

Chevy Safety Assist is part of what makes Chevy one of the safest brands on the market. To no surprise, the 2021 Chevy Trailblazer comes with standard Chevy Safety Assist. This suite includes five different driver-assist technologies. Let’s look at some of the most important Chevy Safety Assist features. First, we’ve got Forward Collision Alert & Automatic Emergency Braking. This system lets you know if you’re traveling too close to the car in front of you, and it will automatically brake for you to prevent collisions. Front Pedestrian Braking works similarly, but it detects people rather than vehicles. Chevy Safety Assist also includes Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning. This feature alerts you if you drift off into another lane without using your turn signal, and it also automatically guides you back into the correct lane. Overall, these safety features are handy, and while they don’t replace your attention, they act as a second pair of eyes to better hold your attention.

    Extra Safety Features

You’ll also get standard Teen Driver mode, which lets you set volume limits, speed limits, and curfews for young drivers. You can add on other safety features as well, such as Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Rear Park Assist. These additions make it easier to navigate parking lots, helping ensure that you don’t back out in front of anyone or back into anything.
