Silverado’s sport-inspired RST model prices at $47,995, and Chevy’s LTZ trim has an MSRP of $51,895. The off-road warrior pickup prices at $65,100 and comes only in a 4×4 drivetrain. The top-tier High Country features all the luxury appointments you expect and starts at $59,895.
2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 Interior
Depending on the Silverado model, you can choose between a regular cab, crew cab, or double cab. The Silverado boasts a best-in-class front head and legroom. The regular cab seats three in a single row, while the double and crew cabs feature two rows with seating for up to six people. The double cab measures larger than the crew cab, which leads to more legroom in the rear seat. In addition, the Silverado offers a segment-first storage compartment in the rear seatback.
Premium cloth upholstery comes standard on the lower trims, while the middle and upper tiers offer various leather trim and signature accents based on the model you choose. Heated and ventilated seats also come standard on the higher trims, including rear outboard heated seats and a leather-wrapped heated steering wheel.

This engine in the High Country model gives you 15 mpg on surface roads and 19 mpg on highways.
Chevy offers the same 5.3-liter V-8 engine with dynamic fuel management and auto start/stop technology that improves efficiency. 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 Performance
Depending on your performance needs, you can opt for a two-wheel or four-wheel drivetrain. In addition, the engine you choose affects how much power you have at your disposal. 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV vs Tesla Cyber Truck
As automobile manufacturers continue to expand their electric vehicle EV offerings, we want you to know Dan Cummins Chevrolet Buick of Georgetown plans to lead the way in electric vehicle sales and service. We’ve proudly served the North Central Kentucky region for over 75 years, providing quality cars, trucks, and SUVs at affordable prices.
If you’re considering moving to an electric truck, you’ve probably heard of the new Chevrolet Silverado EV by now. Chevy recently revealed their new electric truck, so we thought we’d see how it compares to another upcoming model, the Tesla Cybertruck. In this article, we’ll compare these two new trucks’ pricing, performance, and EV powertrain to help you make an informed decision.
Chevrolet Silverado EV Price
Chevrolet plans on production to begin in the second quarter of 2023, but only with the WT (Work Truck) trim level. Chevy designed the work truck primarily for fleet customers and drivers who don’t want all the extra features found on other Silverado trim levels. Chevy announced a second trim, the RST, will start production in the Fall of 2023. We’re told the RST represents the top tier for the Silverado EV lineup, and we expect it to come fully loaded with premium features.
The WT starts at the manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $39,900 before you factor destination fees, options, and accessories. On the RST model, the MSRP begins at $105,000 before any fees or add-ons. We’ve streamlined the buying process with our online pre-approval application.
Tesla Cybertruck Price
Tesla initially unveiled the Cybertruck in 2019 as an upcoming model. However, Tesla continues to push back the production timeline. In fact, they’ve recently removed pricing information from their website, calling into question its availability. Nevertheless, Tesla continues taking pre-orders for the Cybertruck, so we believe it’s a question of when, not if it arrives.
The Cybertruck comes in three trims based on the number of electric motors. The single motor Cybertruck has rear-wheel drive and a projected starting price of around $40,000. We hesitate to guess the pricing of the two or three motor versions, but you can expect them to fall in line with the industry.
Chevrolet Silverado EV Performance Specs
Chevrolet plans to manufacture the Silverado EV on the GMC Hummer platform, not the current non-electric Silverado underpinnings. From that, we know it has two electric motors, one for each axle, and comes with an independent front and rear suspension system. Wheel options range from 18 inches up to 24 inches in various materials and styles.
Chevy says the Silverado EV WT can produce 510 horsepower and 615 pound-feet torque. However, the RST adds a “Wide Open Watts” WOW drive mode that boasts 664 horsepower and 780 pound-feet of torque. We don’t yet know the RST trim’s power output in regular mode, but it shouldn’t be less than the WT. In addition, Chevy claims the RST can travel from zero to 60 mph in under 4.5 seconds.
On the RST, you get adjustable air springs to lift the Silverado EV an additional two inches. The Silverado EV also features four-wheel steering, improving low-speed maneuverability and high-speed towing control.
A new Multiflex Midgate comes on the Silverado EV that folds in a 60/40 split to extend the effective bed length inside the cabin. In addition, you can take out the rear window and store it to accommodate larger items.
You also get the Multiflex Tailgate that offers various configurations to extend the bed length and act as a step or workspace. The standard bed length measures 5-feet, 9-inches. With the Multiflex Midgate lowered and the Multiflex Tailgate extended, your bed length nearly doubles to 10-feet, 10-inches.
Tesla Cybertruck Performance Specs
Tesla’s Cybertruck looks like something NASA developed to drive on the moon. It has a dent- and scratch-resistant stainless-steel body that’s all sharp lines and angles. Tesla claims the single motor configuration travels from zero to 60 mph in 6.5 seconds and achieves a top speed of 110 mph. The dual-motor powertrain can go from zero to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds and tops out at 120 mph. The three-motor setup boasts a zero to 60 mph time of only 2.9 seconds and reaches 130 mph.
Every Cybertruck comes with an adjustable air suspension system that provides up to 16 inches of ground clearance. In addition, a 35-degree approach angle and a 28-inch departure angle add to the off-road capability of the Cybertruck.
Silverado EV Towing Specs
Chevy estimates the towing capacity of the WT model to reach up to 8,000 pounds and a payload rating of up to 1,200 pounds. On the RST trim, you can expect it to tow up to 10,000 pounds and a payload rating of 1,300 pounds when properly equipped. Chevy has said that future models will come with up to a 20,000-pound tow rating.
Tesla Cybertruck Towing Specs
Tesla’s single motor variation can tow up to 7,500 pounds, and the dual-motor tows up to 10,000 pounds. Tesla claims the three motor configuration has a maximum tow rating of up to 14,000 pounds.
Silverado EV Range and Battery Charge Time
Chevy estimates that with the 200 kWh battery, your Silverado EV can travel up to 400 miles on a single charge. In addition, the architecture allows for 800-volt and 350 kW charging that adds 100 miles of driving range in under 10 minutes.
Tesla Cybertruck Range and Battery Charge Time
Tesla hasn’t released definitive numbers or even the size of the battery pack they plan to use on the Cybertruck. However, every Cybertruck comes with a 250-kW charging cable, and Tesla claims the single motor can travel 250 miles on a full charge.
Chevrolet has been manufacturing trucks for over 100 years, and the Silverado began its run over 20 years ago. As a result, you can be confident Chevy can produce a capable electric version on an existing platform. Tesla continues to delay production. So, we don’t know when you can purchase their Cybertruck. In addition, we can’t measure reliability either, because this would be their first truck manufactured.
At Dan Cummins Chevrolet Buick of Georgetown, we eagerly await the arrival of Chevrolet’s newest family member, the Silverado EV. If you’re interested in learning more about the Silverado EV or reserve yours today, we invite you to contact us. One of our friendly, knowledgeable staff will answer all your questions and get your name on the reservation list if you desire.

Other models vary in price, including the LT starting at $50,000, the LTZ starting at $75,000, the Trail Boss starting at $85,000, and the High Country starting at $90,000.

The RST model also features air spring suspension that can lower or raise the truck by 2 inches, based on your preferences. The Silverado EV also includes an independent front and rear suspension and front and rear electric motors.
Interior Features
The Chevy Silverado EV offers you a unique experience. Rather than including a separate cab and bed, it features an integrated body architecture that has a removable window and wall to separate the cab from the bed. It also includes an impressive 17-inch touch screen infotainment system and digital instrumentation. The RST model comes complete with a fixed glass roof and a red, white, and blue color scheme, as well as a column-mounted shifter, which provides you with room for several USB outlets and additional storage.

Cargo and Towing Specs
The base model for the powerful 2024 Chevy Silverado EV comes with 615 pound-feet of torque and 510 horsepower. These impressive torque and horsepower ratings mean that the base-level Silverado EV Work Truck will be able to carry up to 1,200 pounds of payload and provide you with an 8,000-pound tow rating, while the RST model has a maximum towing capacity of 10,000 pounds.
The Silverado EV can also come with Chevy’s MultiFlex tailgate, which allows the vehicle to expand its effective bed length to 10 feet and 10 inches long. The RST can also offer you an impressive payload capacity of up to 1,300 pounds and will include a drive mode called “Wide Open Watts” that enables 780 pound-feet of torque and 664 horsepower. Although production doesn’t start until the second quarter of 2023, the Silverado EV will be well worth the wait!
Ford F-150 Lightning
Consider these details about the Ford F-150 Lightning:
Price
The Ford F-150 Lightning, which bears resemblance to the standard Ford F-150, comes in five different trims at a variety of price points. The base-level model, the Ford F-150 Lightning Pro, starts at $41,669, while the XLT starts at $54,669, the Lariat starts at $69,169, the XLT Extended range starts at $74,196 and the Platinum starts at $90,874. Although the base-level Pro model offers a more affordable price, it’s missing some of the creature comforts you may be looking for, which may require you to upgrade in order to gain all the features you want from an electric truck.
Performance Specs
Like the Silverado EV, the Ford F-150 Lightning can supply power to external sources and offers up to 10 sockets. This truck is the first F-150 to gain an independent rear suspension, but unlike the Chevy Silverado EV, it lacks air suspension. With this electric vehicle, you receive a mobile charger that plugs into a standard 240-volt outlet, and it can export 9.6 kW of power.
This truck may also function as a backup generator, and a fully charged truck should be able to supply the average household with three days of electricity. The Lightning includes an electrical architecture that uses 400-volt charging and the standard battery can deliver up to 230 miles in range per charge, whereas the extended-range juice pack offers you a 300-mile range.
Interior Features
The Ford F-150 Lightning interior is similar to the gasoline-powered Ford F-150, although its primary differences include a large front-trunk cargo bay and an infotainment display. This truck also offers a convenient and spacious interior work surface and includes Max Recline Seats in higher-end models. Depending on the trim, you can choose from vinyl, cloth, leather, or nirvana leather seats, as well as heated and ventilated front seats. As a driver, you can also take advantage of its push-button start feature and ten-way power driver’s seat.
Cargo and Towing Specs
The Ford F-150 Lightning provides a 7,700-pound towing capacity if you purchase a Standard-Range model, but you’ll have to upgrade to a higher-end trim if you’re interested in the full 10,000-pound towing capacity. The standard-range battery delivers 426 horsepower, while the extended-range battery increases the horsepower to 563. Either setup provides an impressive torque of 775 pound-feet. The Lightning will first only include a standard crew-cab with a 5.5-foot bed, although larger beds and two-door or rear half-door options may become available.

Which Used Trucks Are Reliable?

Chevy Silverado, Toyota Tacoma, and Ram 1500 – these are just a few used trucks with a solid reputation for being reliable. While you might be on the hunt for used Chevy trucks for sale, it is a good idea to take a look at other makes and models before making a final decision. Manufacturers have worked diligently over the years designing and producing pickup trucks that last longer than ever; you benefit from this by enjoying your used truck for many years. Modern trucks are as reliable as ever, and they also are more capable, perform better, and offer more features than ever. That said, a used truck is a wise investment. But there are a few exceptions out there, and you don’t want to get stuck with a used truck that you can’t rely on. Also, while reliability is important when shopping for a used truck, there are other factors to consider. Here is a list of used trucks that would make a great addition to your garage.
Chevy Silverado
The Chevy Silverado has long been one of the top sellers in the country, and for very good reasons. The Silverado provides drivers with powerful engines, a bunch of configuration choices, and the ability to customize your truck as much or as little as you want. You don’t have to pay the full price of a new model to enjoy the features, capabilities, and reliability of a Silverado.
With a used Chevy Silverado, you enjoy plenty of powertrain options that fit your needs. If you are in the market for a truck with impressive towing capacities, the turbo-diesel is a good choice. If you are looking for smithing with a lot of horsepower, there are Silverados out there with powerful V8 engines under the hood. There are also engine choices that enjoy good fuel economy.
The beauty about owning a used Chevy Silverado is that you don’t have to settle on the base model. With the money you save buying a used truck, you can get that high-trim level Silverado loaded with all of the features you desire. You might also find a trim that you desire that may no longer be available.
Toyota Tacoma
You can pretty well guess that if you see a lot of Toyota Tacomas on the road, it’s because they last a long time. Consumer Reports show that the Tacoma has a long history of reliability, often scoring five out of five in reliability ratings. This is a truck that many different drivers can rely on to get them to work and to get the job done.
For the weekend warriors out there, the Tacoma is a very capable off-road beast. And while all trims are adequate for off-road conditions, the TRD and TRD Pro models are super rugged and packed with features that will make even the most challenging trails a piece of cake. That said, the Tacoma is still a sporty and stylish truck and looks great on the road.
While it is not a big surprise that the Tacoma does well on rugged roads, it might surprise you to know that the Tacoma is agile and easy to handle. Thanks to solid brakes, responsive steering, and a soft ride, the Tacoma enjoys a comfortable and fun ride. After all, you don’t want your used truck to feel like you are driving on rugged terrain while on the highway.
Ram 1500
Ram trucks are one of the most popular choices in America, and because they are so popular, they enjoy high sales volume. Once a current owner is ready to buy a new model, their old truck usually still has plenty of miles left to go on it, and it’s quickly put on the market while they buy a new Ram. This means that there are a lot of used Ram models on the lot, and you have a large inventory from which to choose. Buying a used Ram means you have plenty of choices at a variety of price points.
We can talk all day long about the many reasons to go out and buy a used Ram 1500, including great powertrain choices, compelling features, and towing and payload capacities, but let’s not forget that Ram has always had excellent safety records. Even lower trim levels and older Ram models have proven safety records that are quite impressive. Because there are so many Ram trucks on the road, you won’t have any problem finding parts at a great price. It’s not likely that you will need to replace any parts – Ram models are quite reliable – but should you have to, you won’t have to worry about waiting several days for a part to be ordered.
Chevy Colorado
One of the main reasons Chevy re-introduced the Colorado to the market is because they realized that not everybody wants a full-size truck. There are several compelling reasons why people desire a mid-size truck, including fuel efficiency, handling, and the fact they are easier to park. It’s the pickup truck that the fictional character Goldilocks would choose because it is not too big or too small; it’s just right.
There are a lot of Chevy Colorado models on the road, which is to be expected as they are quite popular, but because they are so customizable, it isn’t likely that you will see two that look the same at any given time. In addition to an abundant number of color choices available for the Colorado, there are also several trim choices and numerous special editions. So the bottom line is that your used Colorado will be as unique as you, and it will certainly fit your personality.
As affordable as new Colorado models are, they are even more affordable when buying a used model. If we had to guess, it is likely that the price is one of the more compelling reasons why you are in the used truck market. The Colorado promises a reliable and durable truck with all of the features you could want, all at a price that will keep your wallet intact.
